Demi Demitro of The Velveteers

I was introduced to The Velveteers when I found out they would be opening for Greta Van Fleet on their Dreams in Gold Tour. I decided to give them a listen since I’d be seeing them, and I fell in love. Their debut album “Nightmare Daydream” is a stunning combination of hard and psychedelic rock. Demi’s playing, along with her voice is simply electric. Alongside two drummers, Baby Pottersmith and Johnny Fig, they are incredible performers. I’m psyched to see them rock out in December! Until then, Nightmare Daydream will be on repeat. And most likely, after that too. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this talented guitarist and her two bandmates.
Hannah Wicklund

Similar to The Velveteers story, I was introduced to this powerhouse of a musician when it was announced she’d be opening for Greta Van Fleet on the second leg of their tour. She wields a green tiger-striped guitar, taking the stage by storm every time. With her phenomenal vocals mixed with sensational riffs, Hannah is truly a force to be reckoned with.
Joan Jett

Is there ever a time when I’m not obsessed with Joan Jett? The answer is no.
From the Runaways to Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Joan is a rock legend and feminist icon. Her 1980 debut album strayed from the punky sound of the Runaways, sounding more like traditional rock and roll. I think both are great! Her combination of killer vocals, riffs, and songwriting is astounding and impossible not to love.
Nancy Wilson of Heart

Another legend who I had to include on this list, is Nancy Wilson. Alongside her sister Ann, she fronted one of the first hard rock bands fronted by women. I recently became obsessed with Heart, and I couldn’t adore them more! She was ranked eighth-greatest female guitarist of all time by Gibson.
Louise Post of Veruca Salt

Louise Post co-founded the alternative rock band Veruca Salt with Nina Gordon in 1993. Recently gaining popularity after pop star and Grammy winner Olivia Rodrigo covered their hit song “Seether”, Veruca Salt, and Louise Post are finally getting the recognition they deserve amongst a new generation of music lovers.
